About Serendipity

I like the sound of serendipity...the feeling it conveys. Not only is it about fortuitously chancing upon something...a happy discovery...but about about stumbling upon it while looking for something else entirely or to stretch it further, when one wasn't looking for it. So its an unexpected and a fortunate find.

Life is so much about serendipity, depending on how one chooses to view it. It doesn't have to be a spectacular achievement like discovering gravity. The real pleasure of serendipity is often in the smallest of everyday things - bumping into an old friend and having coffee with her ignoring the long list of to-do's for the day; wanting something real bad and having it come your way unexpectedly; stumbling upon a patch of bluebells in the forest or tiny yellow flowers by the wayside.

Serendipity is all around us....sometimes the event that leads us to a serendipitous find could be negative. If we're able to shake off the disappointment from the negative event....there is a greater potential for recognising serendipity. A frivolous example - you're disappointed that you're favourite restaurant is closed for dinner, only to walk a bit further and discover a new one with better food and ambience!

So go forth and surrender to serendipity......
